This is a generalization of the existing\nacpuclock-8960 driver, which it is intended to eventually replace. A\nlibrary of core driver code exists in acpuclock-krait.c with target-\nspecific data living in acpuclock-copper.c (and, eventually, other\nsimilarly-named files).\n\nUnlike existing acpuclock drivers, acpuclock-copper is a platform driver\nwith a platform device defined in a device tree. The driver probes when\nthe platform device has been registered and platform_driver_probe() has\nbeen called in acpuclock-copper\u0027s device initcall.\n\nChange-Id: I334ed0e215bb4076461f7bc39cf4ec89dbc35a8e\nSigned-off-by: Matt Wagantall \u003cmattw@codeaurora.org\u003e\n"

This meant that performing certain\noperations (ex. clk_set_rate()) in init() could interfere with the\nhandoff process by modifying the clock\u0027s registers before the handoff\ncode had a chance to examine them. It also meant that operations\ndone in init() would not take into account clock parent relationships,\nmaking it an inappropriate place to set the rates of voter clocks or\nenable clocks with parents.\n\nAddress this problem by splitting the init() function into two optional\nparts: a pre_init() function that executes before clock driver\ninitialization, and a post_init() function that executes after driver\ninitialization.\n\npre_init() is the appropriate place to perform any register or system\nconfiguration that should be done before clock driver initializes or\nhandoff if performed. "message": "msm: msm_xo: Fix scheduling while atomic bug\n\nclk_get_sys() can\u0027t be called in atomic context, but the msm_xo\ncode is calling clk_get_sys within a spin_lock_irqsave(). This\nleads to scheduling while atomic bugs. Fixing this to call\nclk_get_sys() in a non-atomic location is not as simple as moving\nthe clk_get_sys() call to somewhere else such as msm_xo_init() or\nmsm_xo_get() since those are called before the clock driver is\ninitialized.\n\nLuckily we have moved the XO voting in the clock driver to the\nRPM clock driver so we can move the msm_xo interface to a\nsleepable API using mutex_lock()/mutex_unlock() and also use the\nsleepable variant of msm_rpmrs_set(). This should remove the\nscheduling while atomic bug and also make the XO buffer API less\ninvasive by spinning on the RPM to respond to RPM requests.\n\nChange-Id: I510cb125bde84b80b562add36494b716955ed773\nSigned-off-by: Stephen Boyd \u003csboyd@codeaurora.org\u003e\n"

"message": "msm: subsystem_restart: Make subsystem_restart interrupt context safe\n\nTo allow for correct behavior during sleep modes, it is\nnecessary that clients call subsystem restart within the\ninterrupt handler assigned to the error interrupt for their\nsubsystems. This implies that the subsystem_restart() API\nneeds to be able to safely run in an interrupt context.\n\nUse a workqueue instead of a kthread to perform subsystem\nrestart, since kthreads cannot be created in an atomic\ncontext. Note that concurrency managed workqueues (cmwq) allow\nthe behavior of the subsystem restart API to be preserved\neven after replacing the kthread with a workqueue. This\nis because with cmwq, a work item that sleeps during its\nexecution will not prevent the next-scheduled-work item\nfrom executing. Thus multiple restart sequences can execute\nat the same time, as was the case with kthreads.\n\nChange-Id: I6adaaed0e2312de1d508f289328dc2d5e64679a5\nSigned-off-by: Vikram Mulukutla \u003cmarkivx@codeaurora.org\u003e\n"
