      "message": "Make most arch asm/module.h files use asm-generic/module.h\n\nUse the mapping of Elf_[SPE]hdr, Elf_Addr, Elf_Sym, Elf_Dyn, Elf_Rel/Rela,\nELF_R_TYPE() and ELF_R_SYM() to either the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version\ninto asm-generic/module.h for all arches bar MIPS.\n\nAlso, use the generic definition mod_arch_specific where possible.\n\nTo this end, I\u0027ve defined three new config bools:\n\n (*) HAVE_MOD_ARCH_SPECIFIC\n\n     Arches define this if they don\u0027t want to use the empty generic\n     mod_arch_specific struct.\n\n (*) MODULES_USE_ELF_RELA\n\n     Arches define this if their modules can contain RELA records.       "message": "vfs: dcache: use DCACHE_DENTRY_KILLED instead of DCACHE_DISCONNECTED in d_kill()\n\nIBM reported a soft lockup after applying the fix for the rename_lock\ndeadlock.  Commit c83ce989cb5f (\"VFS: Fix the nfs sillyrename regression\nin kernel 2.6.38\") was found to be the culprit.\n\nThe nfs sillyrename fix used DCACHE_DISCONNECTED to indicate that the\ndentry was killed.       "message": "drivers/rtc/rtc-twl.c: ensure all interrupts are disabled during probe\n\nOn some platforms, bootloaders are known to do some interesting RTC\nprogramming.  Without going into the obscurities as to why this may be\nthe case, suffice it to say the the driver should not make any\nassumptions about the state of the RTC when the driver loads.  In\nparticular, the driver probe should be sure that all interrupts are\ndisabled until otherwise programmed.\n\nThis was discovered when finding bursty I2C traffic every second on\nOvero platforms.  This I2C overhead was keeping the SoC from hitting\ndeep power states.       "message": "slub: consider pfmemalloc_match() in get_partial_node()\n\nget_partial() is currently not checking pfmemalloc_match() meaning that\nit is possible for pfmemalloc pages to leak to non-pfmemalloc users.\nThis is a problem in the following situation.  Assume that there is a\nrequest from normal allocation and there are no objects in the per-cpu\ncache and no node-partial slab.\n\nIn this case, slab_alloc enters the slow path and new_slab_objects() is\ncalled which may return a PFMEMALLOC page.  As the current user is not\nallowed to access PFMEMALLOC page, deactivate_slab() is called\n([5091b74a: mm: slub: optimise the SLUB fast path to avoid pfmemalloc\nchecks]) and returns an object from PFMEMALLOC page.\n\nNext time, when we get another request from normal allocation,\nslab_alloc() enters the slow-path and calls new_slab_objects().  In\nnew_slab_objects(), we call get_partial() and get a partial slab which\nwas just deactivated but is a pfmemalloc page.  We extract one object\nfrom it and re-deactivate.\n\n  \"deactivate -\u003e re-get in get_partial -\u003e re-deactivate\" occures repeatedly.\n\nAs a result, access to PFMEMALLOC page is not properly restricted and it\ncan cause a performance degradation due to frequent deactivation.\ndeactivation frequently.\n\nThis patch changes get_partial_node() to take pfmemalloc_match() into\naccount and prevents the \"deactivate -\u003e re-get in get_partial()\nscenario.       "message": "mfd: core: Push irqdomain mapping out into devices\n\nCurrently the MFD core supports remapping MFD cell interrupts using an\nirqdomain but only if the MFD is being instantiated using device tree\nand only if the device tree bindings use the pattern of registering IPs\nin the device tree with compatible properties.  This will be actively\nharmful for drivers which support non-DT platforms and use this pattern\nfor their DT bindings as it will mean that the core will silently change\nremapping behaviour and it is also limiting for drivers which don\u0027t do\nDT with this particular pattern.  There is also a potential fragility if\nthere are interrupts not associated with MFD cells and all the cells are\nomitted from the device tree for some reason.\n\nInstead change the code to take an IRQ domain as an optional argument,\nallowing drivers to take the decision about the parent domain for their\ninterrupts.       "message": "vfs: make O_PATH file descriptors usable for \u0027fstat()\u0027\n\nWe already use them for openat() and friends, but fstat() also wants to\nbe able to use O_PATH file descriptors.       "message": "eCryptfs: Copy up attributes of the lower target inode after rename\n\nAfter calling into the lower filesystem to do a rename, the lower target\ninode\u0027s attributes were not copied up to the eCryptfs target inode. This\nresulted in the eCryptfs target inode staying around, rather than being\nevicted, because i_nlink was not updated for the eCryptfs inode. This\nalso meant that eCryptfs didn\u0027t do the final iput() on the lower target\ninode so it stayed around, as well.       "message": "ACPI / PM: Infer parent power state from child if unknown, v2\n\nIt turns out that there are ACPI BIOSes defining device objects with\n_PSx and without either _PSC or _PRx.  For devices corresponding to\nthose ACPI objetcs __acpi_bus_get_power() returns ACPI_STATE_UNKNOWN\nand their initial power states are regarded as unknown as a result.\nIf such a device is a parent of another power-manageable device, the\nchild cannot be put into a low-power state through ACPI, because\n__acpi_bus_set_power() refuses to change power states of devices\nwhose parents\u0027 power states are unknown.\n\nTo work around this problem, observe that the ACPI power state of\na device cannot be higher-power (lower-number) than the power state\nof its parent.  Thus, if the device\u0027s _PSC method or the\nconfiguration of its power resources indicates that the device is\nin D0, the device\u0027s parent has to be in D0 as well. The hang should have been\na NULL pointer reference had it not been for a logic error\nin the cdc_wdm code.\n\n  commit 230718bd net: qmi_wwan: bind to both control and data interface\n\nchanged qmi_wwan to use cdc_wdm as a subdriver for devices with\na two-interface QMI/wwan function.  The commit failed to update\nqmi_wwan_suspend and qmi_wwan_resume, which were written to handle\neither a single combined interface function, or no subdriver at all.\n\nThe result was that we called into the subdriver both when the\ncontrol interface was suspended and when the data interface was\nsuspended.       "message": "GFS2: Take account of blockages when using reserved blocks\n\nThe claim_reserved_blks() function was not taking account of\nthe possibility of \"blockages\" while performing allocation.\nThis can be caused by another node allocating something in\nthe same extent which has been reserved locally.\n\nThis patch tests for this condition and then skips the remainder\nof the reservation in this case.
