"message": "[PATCH] ehea: bugfix for register access functions\n\nHi Jeff,\n\nsorry to bother you again. We figured out that the readq function we\nincluded in the eHEA patch we sent yesterday to access eHEA registers\nis defined as little endian on POWER. This collides with our adapter.\nWe talked to some PPC people who told us there is a discussion going\non about new access functions. We were told to use __raw_readq /\n__raw_writeq for now.\n\nThis patch fixes this bug found by our internal tests today.\nPlease apply this small patch on the latest patch we sent you yesterday.\nIf it is easier for you I can also give you the entire eHEA patch again.\n\nsorry and thanks a lot,\nJan-Bernd\n\nSigned-off-by: Jan-Bernd Themann \u003cthemann@de.ibm.com\u003e\n\n drivers/net/ehea/ehea.h | 2 +-\n drivers/net/ehea/ehea_hw.h | 11 ++++++++---\n 2 files changed, 9 insertions(+), 4 deletions(-)\nSigned-off-by: Jeff Garzik \u003cjeff@garzik.org\u003e\n"

"message": "[PATCH] myri10ge: improve firmware selection\n\nImprove the firmware selection by adding 2 cases where we should use the\noptimized firmware:\n* when the actual PCIe link width is lower than 8x.\n* when the board is plugged to one of the new Intel PCIe chipsets that\n are known to provide aligned PCIe completions.\n\nThe patch actually raises two concerns:\n* We might want to add a generic PCI function to get the PCIe link width since\n some other drivers (at least ipath) do the same. But we probably do not want\n to add a new function for every PCIe capability. I will probably look at it\n and discuss it on linux-pci in the future.\n* As requested during the submission, the PCI ids of chipsets that are known to\n provided aligned completion are defined in the myri10ge code. If we keep adding\n new ones, it might become better to move them to pciids.h.\n But, this sort of quirk to detect these chipsets are very specific to our NIC,\n I don\u0027t think it is worth moving it to the PCI core until somebody else really\n needs it.\n\nSigned-off-by: Brice Goglin \u003cbrice@myri.com\u003e\nSigned-off-by: Jeff Garzik \u003cjeff@garzik.org\u003e\n"
